Travelers Building opens.

Architect: Kahn & Jacobs. With George Fuller. It is located at 125 High Street. The first major new office building to be constructed in Boston since the John Hancock building in 1947, and the first to be built downtown since the United Shoe Building in 1929. The company opened its first Boston office in 1864. The building is imploded on March 6, 1988 to make way for another new office building in 1991.*
